More than 40 children doing the Summer Reading Challenge at Henley Community Library have completed the challenge successfully. We are looking forward to the gold medal award presentation will be held at the library in the Henley Methodist Church on Saturday 8th September at 10:30 am. Olympic and Paralympic torchbearers Tom Richardson and Sara Clarke will present the children with their medals, while MEP Malcolm Harbour will hand them their Certificates.
Although most of the children come from Henley, others come from Wootton Wawen, Solihull, Claverdon and Redditch. “This is a huge increase in successful participation over last year’s Summer Reading Challenge,” said Judith Lindley. Henley Community Library Director. “We owe it to the dedication of the 8 volunteers who met with the children throughout the holidays and the excellent promotion of reading and library membership for children at Henley Primary School.” The scheme is sponsored by Warwickshire Library & Information Services using materials from the StoryLab project of The Reading Agency, a charity dedicated to the promotion of reading.
